Do children grow up too fast?

Image sourced from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1583398

A popular topic of interest at the moment is the debate regarding the development age of children. Do you think they grow up too fast? If so, what are the reasons for this? Could society as a whole be responsible for the changes in child development? Do we expect too much from children at a young age?

Below is an article from the BBC which discusses the popular debate, what are your thoughts on this matter?

  1. As a KS1 teacher, some children reach me ready to begin challenging National Curriculum work, others take time to adjust and prefer play-base learning. It is so subjective.
